L’undici maggio 2006 si inaugurerà la mostra dell’artista viennese Esther Stocker (1974), mostra che segue le recenti esposizioni che hanno visto i lavori dell’artista a Roma presso la galleria Unosunove (fino al 15 aprile) e al Museo Pecci di Prato per l’importante collettiva sulla nuova arte austriaca “Opera Austria- Prospettive frammentate: arte nel cuore dell’Europa” (fino al 28 maggio). Alla Galerie im Taxispalais del Land Tirol di Innsbruck, si è aperta il 7 aprile un’ampia personale dell’artista, che continuerà fino al 21 maggio. L’appuntamento alla Galleria Contemporaneo si inserisce quindi nel cuore di un’attività artistica intensa e di grande qualità, e prevede vi siano, oltre all’esposizione di lavori degli ultimi anni e a opere recentissime, installazioni in sito, installazioni che costituiscono in generale uno degli aspetti di maggior interesse della ricerca della Stocker.

La sua pittura propone una riflessione sul senso dell’astrazione geometrica, sulle modalità di percezione fra opera e spettatore, nonché, una innovativa riconsiderazione delle esperienze artistiche italiane degli anni ’60, in particolare quelle risalenti alle sperimentazioni del gruppo T (Colombo, Varisco, De Vecchi e altri). Il rigore del linguaggio visivo della Stocker, permette di considerare nuovamente la questione della relazione fra opera e pubblico attraverso la specificità delle componenti strutturali del quadro. Forme primarie, griglie, geometrie compositive che vibrano per l’interazione dei ‘non colori’ bianco e nero, costituiscono un’occasione rara, sia per il pubblico che per gli addetti ai lavori, di prendere contatto con un percorso artistico che ripropone la riflessione sui dispositivi concettuali e visivi della modernità.

The work of Esther Stocker (1974) suggests a reflection on the meaning of geometric abstraction, on the perceptive approaches between the viewer and the artwork, as well as an innovative reconsideration of the Italian artistic experiences from the Sixties and, especially, of the experimentations by the gruppo T (Colombo, Varisco, De Vecchi and others). Her visual language thoroughness enables us to consider again the issue of the relation between the artwork and the audience by means of the specificity of the painting structural elements. Primal forms, grids, compositional geometries that vibrate because of the interaction between the “non-colours” black and white are, both for the viewers and for the insiders, a singular occasion to deal with an artistic path that reintroduces the reflection on the modernity’s conceptual and visual devices.

Her solo show at the Galleria Contemporaneo follows her recent exhibitions in Rome, at the Unosunove gallery (16 February - 15 April 2006), at the Centre for Contemporary Arts L. Pecci in Prato with the major group show on the new Austrian art Opera Austria – Prospettive frammentate: arte nel cuore dell’Europa (26 February - 28 May 2006) and at the Galerie im Taxispalais in the Land Tirol of Innsbruck (7 April - 21 May 2006). The exhibition at the Galleria Contemporaneo is part of a new rich artistic program of excellent quality that will show, besides her last years and more recent works, site specific installations that are the core of Stocker’s artistic research.
